An Extreme Food-RoadTrip?

 photo IMG_5493_zpsgnugo4re.jpg

Fuoh! Another road trip! Cheers to that! I do honestly love road trips as you get to discover more on every trip. As for this time, I was blessed to be selected by Honda Malaysia to test out their new Civic, and the destination? Penang!

Honestly I was really excited about this, as I have loved the Civic since the first Fast and Furious came out. Remembering those scenes where they had 3 black civics with neon lights gave me chills! And as for this time we are testing out the new civic with a 5 car convoy, it felt like we were gonna own the roads!

 photo 20161217_0034_zpsc58egtrk.jpg

A group of us gathered at Citta Mall where we were briefed by Honda about whats planned ahead for us. I was teamed up with Daus & Lan, where we got the new 1.5 VTEC Turbocharged Civic at the top of its range! It was going to be a short and simple weekend trip, while pushing the car to the limits.

First stop, we headed over to Tualang, for a makan session! I haven't been to Tualang before, and their specialty is fresh water prawns! Such a great way to start the trip!

It also offers “Advanced Interface” via its 7” Advanced Display Audio which appeals to the new generation. It is completely redesigned to be the most convenient and connected Civic ever. Some of these features which are also Civics’ first include:
Remote Engine Start
Walk Away Auto Lock
Electric Parking Brake
Auto Brake Hold

Makans time!

So after being all fueled up with food, we started our drive towards Penang. We headed over to the Penang Stadium at Batu Kawan where we were able to test out the Civic's performance and safety features. It was pretty exciting as we were able to test the cars with some professional stunt men which allowed us to feel what the Civic is capable of

Some of the performance and safety features include:
6 Airbags (Dual Front Airbags, Side Curtain Airbags, and Side Airbags)
Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA)
Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD)
Brake Assist (BA)
Hill Start Assist (HSA)
Emergency Stop Signal (ESS)
ISOFIX

After a super awesome time of having fun testing out the cars, we then headed over to Penang Island where we took a scenic drive to the Penang Botanical Mansion at Balik Pulau. They rented the whole place for us where we could sit down and enjoy evening drinks and enjoy a buffet spread of local Penang Cuisine

Djakarta Warehouse Project 2016 (DWP)

 photo IMG_20161210_011420_zpsgngzry1v.jpg

Another year is passing by and it is always a great time to party! Since there are no more mega events in KL, I decided to go to Djakarta Warehouse Project in Jakarta for the 2nd year in a row

DWP is South East Asia's largest music festival, which brings in many performers from all around the world. If you're asking why I didn't go Zoukout in Singapore instead, the cost to head to DWP is much cheaper compared to Zoukout. The only thing you would have to worry is about flights and your hotel, as the rest are pretty cheap at Jakarta

Malaysia Represent!

This was actually quite a Yolo trip, as I didn't plan on who I was gonna meet up there until the last minute. Lucky me, that Ying Zi decided to follow me there, and we joined John Paul's party squad over there for the next few days

For starters, Check out my video here:

If you compared it to last year's DWP, it was better back then as the lineup was better, it was somehow more exciting, and it wasn't as crowded and stuffy this year. But of course, to me, the most important thing to have at a music festival are great friends who will party with you that will create a great experience there :)

The latest Wine Bar in KL

 photo WC03_zpsxvffra5y.jpg

Where are my wine peeps at? I've got good news for you as I shall fill your glasses with wine and make your soul filled with joy, friendship and laughter!

Wine is one of the drinks that I'm truly enthusiastic about, as each bottle has a different flavour and character which will suit different occasions. I myself personally enjoy a bottle or two every week with friends, as it is the best time to catch up and taste the finer things in life

It isn't quite a culture here, as many people figure that Wine is expensive, and would only go with lavish dinners and parties. Here comes the good part. Wine Connection has finally opened its doors at TREC KL, and it is definitely a place for you to explore

 photo WC08_zpsrozxcz7k.jpg

Wine Connection is South East Asia's Largest Wine Retailer and with its entry to Malaysia, it is going to change the Wine Market here. In KL itself, Wine Connection has a variety of  over 200 hand picked labels, and it is exclusively imported into the market. This means you won't be finding this wine anywhere else!

Why should you come here? The Wine Connection team tastes more than two thousand wines yearly and selects the best 5% to be part of the stores’ portfolio, which means you'll be getting good wines here!

I brought Yunsin over for this, as she has been my wine buddy for life, and there is no one else I would enjoy a bottle with (besides Chung LOL). This place is pretty chillax as well, as it overlooks the golf course, and you would feel as if you're having a garden drinking session

Price wise? It is pretty affordable. A glass would cost RM17, and a bottle as low as RM65. Just think of it, a bottle can be shared out by 4 pax, and that cost is equivalent to a frappuccino per person. #JustSaying

The most expensive bottle I saw was at RM250, and if you would like to take away, a bottle starts from RM49!

Do check them out at www.wineconnection.com.my as this festive season, wine lovers can enjoy free delivery from RM100 (usual Minimum Order is RM200) and a  free gift (set of 2 Stemless Wine Glasses), upon their first online order, using the promo code: MYWineCo. This launch promotion is valid on the first 100 orders

So if you're craving wine, I would definitely recommend this place or you can simply take away or order online :)

Zombie Apocalypse in Manila

 photo walking dead_zpsewvgxfsx.jpg

Zombies Zombies everywhere! Ever wondered if a zombie apocalypse really did happen and you're stuck in a car awaiting your death? Well it did happen in Malaysia, Philippines & Indonesia!

If you've no idea what I'm talking about, Season 7 of the walking dead came out in October, and I was able to be part of it!

It all started with an idea of experiencing a zombie apocalypse in a traffic jam, and the company that I worked for was appointed to create the VR simulation for that experience, and it was called THE RIDING DEAD

It was a crazy big project with Fox Asia, Zeno Malaysia, Cake Experiential Communications, Kix, Grab & Uber across a few different countries where the experience would be hailing a Zombie Ride through Grab (Malaysia & Philippines) or Uber (Indonesia), and getting to try on the VR simulation during your transit to your destination

After finishing the launch at KL, Tilla and I packed our bags and headed over to Philippines to prep the Philippines Fox & Grab Team for the campaign. It is pretty awesome feeling when you get to travel for work.

Tilla & I flying to Manila

We arrived at Manila and the team there was so nice and friendly, from picking us up to recommending us places to eat and showing us around, definitely it is a place with the best hospitality!

I used to frequent Philippines a lot in the past, as I was one of the Ambassadors for Cebu Pacific Airlines. How nostalgic it is to finally return to this paradise

After checking in, work started! We had a real blast briefing and teaching the drivers, as they were so keen to learn. And also had a tour around the Fox office, where we met all the awesome people in there!

If you're wondering what the VR experience is like, Check out the video here:

And of course, after a few days of work, its definitely time to relax! The hotel we stayed at (F1 Hotel) was top notch, and the food around us was fantastic!

Another great part about this trip is that I was finally able to meet up with my 2 favourite Filipino friends from Cebu Pacific Airlines, Joy & Michelle! They were the ones who organized all my trips in the past when I was an ambassador.

This time, they brought me to one of the street markets, to finally taste the authentic Filipino food which I long craved for!

All in all, it was definitely a great time over there as I got to meet so many faces, discover new experiences and of course, reconnect with my beloved friends.

I would definitely love to once again thank the team for making it all happen!
