A weekend at Singapore

As I've finally finished my finals, I decided to take a weekend off before i started working. And well, the nearest "out of the country" country is Singapore. *going to Singapore had nothing to do with the fact I wanted to see my wife off* LOL

So anyways, I headed to Singapore on Friday where Ying Zi was there with open arms to bring me into her humble home. We spent the weekend together while heading to Zouk Singapore, eating loads of food, and pretty much walking around. And God knows why Zouk was freakin packed till I couldn't even move. but well, its a good experience i guess?

Getting back to the main reason of going Singapore, was to see one of my beloved friends, Geralyn aka my wife as she was heading off to Shanghai to do her internship. It was a surprise planned by me and Yen Wei to just get her shocked. It was all good seeing her for the last time and hopefully She'll come back =D

As of the 3rd day in Singapore, I spent my day with Yuqii & Bern which were my long time friends, where we visited Marina Bay Sands, and getting to see the Harry Potter Convention!

The Harry Potter Convention wasn't as much as I expected, wasn't really worth the $25 per person as there were only Robes, Wands, and some interactive activities *disappointed*

Other than that, I had fun taking some shots of Singapore itself!

We're gonna fly!

sadly no photography was allowed inside, so I couldn't take any pics of the convention. It was a good experience this time at Singapore, and its thanks to the lovely people who hosted me there!

last but not least:

Yuqii & her mom for driving me around! =D

I'll be updating slowly from now on as I'm quite busy with my internship. but I promise to do so as much as I can! toodles~

The Hennessy VSOP New Bottle!

Remember the launching of the New Hennessy Vsop Bottle at Double Tree Hilton? Well now its time to get down to the details! The New Hennessy vsop Bottle is another step in revolutionizing Hennessy Vsop and its a mark to write down in History as a new design is formed!

Hennessy VSOP began on 7 October 1817 when the future King George IV of England asked the great French Cognac House to supply him with a special cognac described in the records of "Very Superior Old Pale" (Vsop).

The Design may have changed over 200 years, but the same taste is still preserved through the stewardship of the Hennessy Cellar Master where there are secrets in how the cognac is made in terms of selection, ageing and blending, and the oak casks used to mature the cognac.

As for the designing of the bottle, Hennessy had Christopher Edward "Chris" Bangle to design the new bottle. He was the chief of design which is legendary in the automotive world as he basically designed cars such as the BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce Motor cars from 1992-2006

And as for the Hennessy Bottle he designed, It is his first masterpiece outside the automotive industry!

You can check out the video below:

The new design of the bottle comprises of:

Slightly accentuated the curve in the side of the bottle, reinforcing the dynamic of its silhouette (by less than 1 millimetre).

Added a hollow bottom to the bottle to adapt it for handling.

Inspired by the Hennessy V.S.O.P. bottle created in 1954, Chris Bangle chose to confirm this upward movement with a thicker base resembling a pedestal to distinguish the whole and stabilise it.

- Lengthened the bottle’s neck and straightened its shoulders, stretching it vertically.

Drew two lines of perspectives in the glass around the central label, creating an optical effect by structuring the front of the bottle with a pyramid perspective, Drew two lines of perspectives in the glass around the central label, creating an optical effect by structuring the front of the bottle with a pyramid perspective

Revised the choice of paper and colours for the labels: a few millimetres from the arm and axe, the symbolic Hennessy V.S.O.P. oval is coloured in a dark grey ennobled with golden embossing, a reminder of the alchemy of contrasts comprising it. The main label highlights this refinement with a shimmering gloss imprinted with clusters of grapes and vine leaves in the background as a subliminal reminder of the origins of the cognac contained in the bottle.

In terms of design, every 1mm makes a difference, and this is truly a masterpiece in the Hennessy lineage.

As of the new Hennessy Packaging. There were some key notes added to it such as:

- The bottle gives its edges over a more modern vision, where the sides have been refined so that all we see is the bottle, dramatised by photographer Adam Savitch

The “Superior” quality of the cognac is evoked by the liquid splash of V.S.O.P. on the back of the bottle, a reminder of the curves of an “S”.

- Lastly, one side of the box, called “Black Tie”, glorifies elegant purity on a black background decorated with a band of golden vine leaves, echoing the bottle’s label. This band is part of the heritage of the Hennessy V.S.O.P. box created in 1954, where it appeared in a red and gold version.

More than that, To ensure the genuineness of the bottleA laser stamp for the 35-cl, 70-cl and 3-litre bottles and a hologram of increased complexity (now with new horizontal lines forming a grape cluster) seal the cap. The “Superior” quality of the cognac is evoked by the liquid splash of V.S.O.P. on the back of the bottle, a reminder of the curves of an “S”.

To sum it up, Hennessy has made a mark in history where a new bottle is born!
